Strategies to get the best Wilmington rental experience:

When to reserve a Wrightsville Beach rental & When to go:

  • Summertime is high season in Wilmington. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. The Cottage on Park (2 miles from Wrightsville Beach) has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
