Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book your prefect Wrightsville Beach vacation home:

  • First, have your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Boat life at the beach, 36ft sailboat at Carolina Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is right for your family.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
