Strategies to get the perfect Wrightsville Beach vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Holden Beach. To book the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Wrightsville Beach attractions.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Wrightsville Beach area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Brand new modern beach home with elevator, pool, marsh view, 2 min walk to beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Wrightsville Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
