Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Wrightsville Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in Carolina Beach:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront condo with great view, fast WiFi, & central AC - steps to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach destination you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
