Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Wrightsville Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Oak Island. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your family choose vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Walk to the beach or kayak and fish on the Davis Canal! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Wrightsville Beach beach you love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
