Visitors who are strolling along the Carolina Beach Boardwalk can enjoy a colorful break from the sun and sand by stepping into the vibrantly inviting Saltwater Surf Art Gallery. Featuring a wealth of distinctively beach-themed artworks, this cool little gallery will catch the eye of experienced art buyers and everyday sightseers alike.
The majority of works within the gallery are designed by the owner, Sheila Faye Politis, who specializes in Acrylic, Spray Paint, Uni Posca Paint Markers, Charcoal, and a combination of all of the above. In addition to original paintings, shoppers can also pick up some posters and prints, or can even get a custom and original design on their surfboard – a truly local way to appreciate the Carolina Beach art scene. Visitors who want to join in and develop their own talents can also sign up for one of the popular Sip and Paint classes, which features a new sea-themed painting every session that goes great with a glass of wine. (Kids classes and private classes are also available for budding artists.) From uniquely cool works that fit in perfectly with the Cape Fear landscape, to creating your own masterpiece, the Saltwater Surf Art Gallery shines a spotlight on how colorfully enticing coastal art can be.
