Our top Oak Island rental property booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • To find the largest rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Wrightsville Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental home:

  • To start, have your group choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Carolina Breeze - Cozy Beach Cottage Near Ocean Crest Pier has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
