Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Wrightsville Beach area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Gorgeous Bungalow, near Cargo District & Downtown has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is best for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach beach you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
