How to book the best vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking a perfect Wrightsville Beach vacation home:

  • To start, have your family commit to dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Home with Private Walkway to Beach, 2 Ocean-View Sun Decks & WiFi has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
