Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking your prefect Wrightsville Beach rental home:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Visit Bald Head Island in March. Peaceful porches with stunning ocean view! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
