Tips to get the best rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Wrightsville Beach restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Finding the best rental:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Hobbs Realty - Very Last Home on the Island w\/Heated Pool, Elevator, Luxury Amenities has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
