Welcome to The Blue Moon Cottage! The home is currently being entirely refreshed and is scheduled to be done in April! The home will have a TOTALLY different feel including raised ceilings, updated bathrooms, kitchen and much much more!

The porch extends right over the dunes giving unparalleled and unobstructed vistas of the ocean, accepting you to take in all of what makes a beach trip so special right from the comfort of your own home!

The Space:
From its completely supplied kitchen, private beach walkway, back porch overlooking the ocean and the highest quality of amenities makes The Bluemoon Cottage one of the most unique and opulent stays on Wrightsville Beach. It has been furnished with Parachute sheets, linens and bath towels, Helix beds and is supplied with Leus beach towels!

Guest Access:
This beachfront residence is located on the North End of Wrightsville Beach, tucked away at the end of a private street, giving you the feel of your own private beach. It shares a roomy gated driveway with Sundance Cottage (also bookable via Mira-Mar)!

The Neighborhood:
Arranged for a sizable family or two smaller families, should you require more rooms, let us know! The Bluemoon Cottage can be paired up with its sister-property The Sundance Cottage.

Other Things to Note:
Please notify our office if you’re planning to bring a pet as the following pet policy will apply: A max. of 2 family pets are allowed. ONLY DOGS ARE ACCEPTED. The pet fee is $200 per pet plus tax.
**All service animals & emotional support animals must be disclosed at the time of booking. A pet fee will NOT be charged for true Service Animals.

Mira-Mar requires that all reservations have a signed rental agreement on file that will be emailed to you after booking.

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Wrightsville Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.   • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review.
