About the Area

Located in Bald Head Island, this vacation home is near the beach. Smith Island Museum of History and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Bald Head Island Information Center are also worth visiting.   • Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection.   • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
