Tips to get the optimal Wrightsville Beach rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Wrightsville Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • First, have your group commit to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 5BR\/3.5BA Home - Oceanfront, NEW POOL, PRIVATE BOARDWALK TO BEACH,Sleeps14 has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
