Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in Bald Head Island. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Community Pool and 2 golf carts! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Wrightsville Beach beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
