Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wrightsville Beach area. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Wrightsville Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Featured on HGTV- Best of Both Worlds! Beach & Canal 4 YOU has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Wrightsville Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
