Our top Wrightsville Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in Oak Island. Reserve your Wrightsville Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to select the perfect vacation rental in Oak Island:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Ivy Cottage: Dog-Friendly, Oceanfront Cottage with Fenced Yard has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
