Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Wrightsville Beach rental & When to go:

  • To find the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Wrightsville Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best rental home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Large 5BR*Dbl. Master*1 Block to Beach Access* GAMEROOM *Firepit* Yaupon Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
