How to find the best vacation property experience:

When to visit Oak Island & When to book:

  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Wrightsville Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose yourrental:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. A Turtle's Pace: Ocean View, End Unit Condo Within Walking Distance of Beach Acc has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
