Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • To start, have your group choose trip dates and a max budget.
  • Dog Friendly + Ocean View! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach destination you love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
