Getting the best vacation property experience:

When to book a Wrightsville Beach rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Wrightsville Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

Choosing and booking your prefectrental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Downtown Sunshine Cottage & GolfCart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Wrightsville Beach destination you crave, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

More considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
