Finding the best Oak Island rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • To get the best value, try shifting your family's Wrightsville Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. The Disgruntled Pelican: Dog-friendly, Coastal Home Near Intracoastal Waterway has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
