If your ideal vacation home features beautiful vistas in a peaceful and serene setting, then look no further than Yacht View. Located among trees on the Intracoastal Waterway, this rental, freshly added in spring of 2023, sits near the western tip of Oak Island, features a private dock and is dog-friendly to friendly dogs. Sit on the screened porch with your morning cup of coffee and appreciate the ideal hideaway spot to really rest; soak in the peaceful sounds of nature and relax in the salty breeze. Watch graceful egrets and herons as they feed in the shallows, marvel as prehistoric-looking pelicans soar overhead and even spot playful dolphins frolicking in the warm waters.

Keeping the original period of the building intact, this property has modern day features that blend with vintage appeal. Upstairs is the main living area, with additional-huge wall-to-wall windows to showcase the natural landscape of the coastal Carolina environment. Parlor on the comfortable couch, adore seat and recliner with family to take in a favorite movie, or savor spectacular evening sunsets that paint the sky in vivid hues from orange to purple.

There is plenty of seating for meal times, including a enormous dining table that seats six and a smaller kitchen table seating four. The roomy and well supplied kitchen has everything you need to prepare fresh seafood, whether caught from your very own dock or purchased at one of the local markets.

The master bedroom is furnished with a king bed and a sizable wall-mounted flat screen TV. There is an attached private half bath for your convenience. The main bath is shared and has a standard tub/shower combo with sliding door.

The second bedroom features a queen bed and a modest flat screen TV, and the final bedroom has two double beds and a huge wall-mounted flat screen TV.

The ground floor provides plenty of additional space for entertaining with two separate seating areas, each with their own TV, and a wet bar. A double futon is available for additional sleeping space, and a full-sized bathroom adds to the convenience of this space. The laundry facilities are also located on this level.

On the back of the ground level is a screened patio area to be able to enjoy the coastal landscape and avoid pesky bugs. An additional dining table accepts for dining al fresco. Or let your dog roam in the three-sided fenced-in yard while you relax on the shaded upper deck watching boats coast by on the Intercoastal Waterway. There is an enclosed outdoor shower with a dressing area that makes rinsing sand off after a trip to the beach simple and convenient.

The private dock includes a fish cleaning station and additional seating, along with a floating dock for securing your boat or launching a kayak or paddle board. Please note that the boat lift is not available for guest use. The side yard has plenty of space for parking your boat trailer. Whether you enjoy fishing, floating, swimming or exploring the local waterways, this home is the place to be!

Wrightsville Beach rental booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Yacht View: Serene, Dog-friendly Home on Intracoastal Waterway has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
