Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental home in Carolina Beach:

  • Choose dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. A Little Piece of Paradise on the North End of the Island! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
