Strategies for getting the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summer time is high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Choose your dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Gone Coastal OF Duplex with Salt Water Pool-Watch Fireworks from the Deck! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
