Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Wrightsville Beach vacation home experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Wilmington. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and choose a perfectvacation home:

  • First, have your family commit to the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Landing at Pier 33 - 2 Bedrooms in Historic District has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
