Rental booking tips:

Sticking to a budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental:

  • First, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 0612 Sandy Feet Retreat by Atlantic Towers has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is right for your group.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
